Designed to complement the nearby Tara Iti Golf Club, which is an exclusive members-only club, Te Arai offers two rewarding 18-hole seaside courses each with their own character. The two courses are nestled amidst undulating coastal splendour – tackle the courses accompanied by the crashing of the surf and the smell of salt in the air.
South Course
The South Course was designed by the world-renowned golf architects Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw. Melding seamlessly with the natural dunes, the course showcases the region’s extraordinary coastal beauty, with exposed sand and wind-blown grasses accentuating the greens.
Eight of the holes on the South Course border directly on the ocean, while sixteen take in views of the coast, for a visually stunning experience.
North Course
Tom Doak, who designed the world-leading Tara Iti Golf Club, leant his expertise and craftsmanship to the North Course of Te Arai.
Situated more inland than the South Course, the North Course plays very differently, with unique green shapes and dramatic approaches. Even here, removed from the beachfront, the ocean forms a major feature for seven of the holes.
On-Site Facilities
Facilities at Te Arai Golf Course include The Playground, the largest putting green in the world at two acres in size. Each day, a unique 12- to 18-hole course is arranged here for practice. In addition, golfers can hone their skills at The Range, a short game area with six greens for bunker shots and chipping.
The South Clubhouse serves as a central point for all golfers. This includes the golf shop, which features leading apparel brands and Te Arai Links merchandise as well as golf essentials.
Meanwhile, golfers can choose from a wide array of dining options while they play at Te Arai Golf Course. From fine dining restaurants with ocean views to a casual stop between holes on the North Course, Te Arai delights visitors with vibrant flavours and diverse offerings.
