Nestled at the foot of the Southern Alps, on a terrace overlooking the Rakaia River, Terrace Downs combines a parkland-style front 9 with a links-style back 9 for a varied and engaging experience. The course was designed in two stages by Sid Puddicombe, moving from sheltered woodland surrounds to open tussock-lined greens. Changeable weather patterns and daring holes that cling to the edge of the river gorge ensure every round is a unique challenge.

Lined on both sides by towering mountains, Terrace Downs borders a stretch of high country wilderness, offering a mix of sophisticated design and rugged natural splendour. The course itself incorporates ten lakes as well as varied vegetation including copses of native trees, evergreens, and riparian tussocks.

On-Site Facilities

The supremely comfortable clubhouse at Terrace Downs Golf Course includes showers and changing facilities. Upstairs, the clubhouse restaurant offers sweeping mountain views to accompany its high country fare, with a full menu including drinks.

Meanwhile, the Pro Shop is stocked with premium golf equipment, accessories, and apparel, with expert staff on hand to offer assistance and recommendations. Rentals and coaching are also available.
